John Paul's Baptism

What a great kid! We can't believe that John Paul is 8! We had a wonderful day at his baptism. He was excited and knew what he was doing was right. We had family and friends after for lunch and visiting. Can't believe that it was our last baptism in our family.

South Jordan-Two Temples

Our family is so blessed to live close to two temples. The Jordan River temple is two miles to our east and the new Oquirrh Mountain Temple is two miles to our west! John Paul's 8th birthday is on June 5th and Chuck got tickets to the temple open house that day. The day after will be his baptism. He is excited!

Quick — name the city where two LDS Church temples are located.
The obvious answer — Salt Lake City — isn't the most correct answer. Yes, there are four temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located throughout the Salt Lake Valley in what one could call "metropolitan Salt Lake City."
But only the iconic Salt Lake Temple is located in Salt Lake City proper.
Nauvoo, Ill., has been the site of two temples, but the two were built more than 150 years apart and the current Nauvoo Illinois Temple is modeled after its predecessor and built on the exact same site.
The real answer is South Jordan, a city in the southwestern area of the Salt Lake Valley that covers some 21 square miles that can lay claim to two LDS temples now that the Oquirrh Mountain Utah Temple begins pre-dedication functions this week.
Located at 11022 S. 4000 West just off Bangerter Highway, Oquirrh Mountain is just a 13-minute or four-mile drive away from its South Jordan neighbor, the Jordan River Utah Temple, at 10200 S. 1300 West.
Once a predominantly rural area in the valley, South Jordan has grown from a population of 1,345 in 1960 to the April 2009 estimate of nearly 54,000 residents.

If you are going to be in town and would like to go to the open house...I can help you get tickets and would love to go with you!

Funny

We were watching General Conference and the Choir was singing. Chuck said to Charlie "Charlie, maybe someday you will sing in the choir." (Charlie has always loved singing and music) He replied "Yea, that would be fun but I will always have to leave rehersal early". Chuck asked "Why?" Charlie's answer was "I will have to go to football practice at BYU." I think he still loves football more! Kids say the funniest things.

1st Off Track Project...Complete!!

My first off track project turned out Teriffic!! Annelise picked the colors and I was a little worried after I actually had the paint mixed at Home Depo. The paint lady raved how she loved the turquoise which made me a little more uneasy seeing how she looked and what her style was (Punk Rocker :). I was actually pleased at the finished project!! All for under $100.00 . I made the bedspread, window seat and curtain yesterday and finished with the polka dots today. Now if Annelise will keep her room clean!
