Funnies

After teaching school for 16 years I have heard some pretty funny things. I had to share these. Every year I try to remember to tell my parents if they will remember 1/2 of what their children tell them happens at school and I will remember 1/2 of what they tell me happens at home.
Enjoy!!

The one above  the students were given a sheet of paper with a sticker on it. They were to write a story about the sticker.

Dear Mrs. Jones,
I wish to clarify that I am not now, nor have I ever been, an exotic dancer.
I work at Home Depot and I told my daughter how hectic it was last week before the blizzard hit. I told her we sold out every single shovel we had, and then I found one more in the back room, and that several people were fighting over who would get it. Her picture doesn't show me dancing around a pole. It's supposed to depict me selling the last snow shovel we had at Home Depot.
From now on I will remember to check her homework more thoroughly before she turns it in.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Smith

My idea of a perfect day!

Change that to Diet Coke and it's perfect!

Draper Temple Open House

The boys and I are still off track. (Yes, only a week left). The Middle School had the day off for the end of the quarter. Since the kids were home we decided to go to the Open House of the Draper Temple. It was beautiful. I loved the colors and the furniture. All temples are beautiful but this one is extraordinary. Probably because it's new and in style, but it took my breath away. John Paul was so cute. At the end of the tour he asked me what my favorite part of the temple was. I told him the sealing room and the celestial room. Of course I then asked him. He told me everything was his favorite but the baptismal font was the best because it has bulls. I then told him that they were really oxen and he said he was OK with that. I was glad the kids had the opportunity to go as young children. Hopefully they will remember the feeling they felt and have a desire to go there again.

First Freestyle Race

This is painful to watch. Annelise was right when she said he looked like he was having a seizure! But of course we think he did great!

First Breast Stroke Race

This race wasn't too bad except that he decided to use a butterfly kick. Unfortunately that was a DQ!

Our Baby's First Swim Meet

OK...I know he is not a baby, he is almost 8!! But he will always be our baby. We have been trying for years to get John Paul to swim with the other kids. I think maybe the problem is that he has been to swim meets since he was born and he may just be a little sick of it! He should have started on the pre-comp team, but since his brother and sisters we on the USA Comp team he would have nothing to do with the "Baby Team". (His words). So fortunately, the swim coach said just come. I think that made him feel big. He started swimming in November and had his first meet in December. I do admit his form has a little to be desired but if he is anything like his brothers and sisters he will become a fish soon!!
